Made in collaboration with writer/performer Eric Dean Wilson, Meat Game uses movement, mythology, history, text, and sound to explore womanhood and power, in all of their multifarious constructs. The concept was born from research about Queen Victoria, who mysteriously manages to embody the paradoxes of femininity. Meat Game begs the questions: What does it mean to be a woman? To be feminine? Can a woman have power without sacrificing femininity? This investigation, in its current incarnation, is a dancing game with complex rules, the consumption of flesh, and the resurrection of a queen.
Meat Game was performed at Triskelion Arts in Brooklyn on June 15 & 16, 2012.
