FAQs

  • Creative coaching is a style of life coaching oriented towards creative professionals and people interested in engaging with their creativity. I like to remain open and adaptive, responding to any desires, fears, obstacles and dreams that come up. That way, we are free to explore these ideas, often in ways that feel creative or intuitive.

  • While coaching and therapy have some overlap, they are not the same thing. Both practices hold space for exploring emotions, for example, but they differ in their approaches and perspectives. The work we’ll do here will focus on the present moment and the future. Coaching is oriented towards forward movement in both state of being and in action. If you are seeking mental health support, coaching is not a replacement for therapy, however coaching and therapy are not mutually exclusive either. In fact, therapy and coaching work can function symbiotically to help you grow in the direction and at the pace that’s right for you!

  • Education: I received my BA in dance and theater from Swarthmore College. I did my coach training and completed my certification through the Co-Active Training Institute (CTI), the first and largest international coaching program. I am a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC).

Creative Background: I spent my early career developing my own creative practice in dance and performance work. That creative process has now evolved into other mediums and practices, including coaching. I have also had the privilege of working alongside creative masters, and experiencing their creative processes first hand. Since 2014 I have worked for Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Award winning songwriters) in a variety of capacities on projects for stage, film, and TV.

  • Yes! While many of my clients are creative professionals, the “creative” part of my coaching applies to the process as well. If the prospect of exploring or connecting with your own creativity, whether professionally or personally, intrigues you, then we might be a good match!

  • No, I am not an editor. Feedback and direct guidance on specific projects is consulting work rather than coaching. Project based consulting is something I plan to offer in the future, but currently I am only offering coaching services.

The amazing thing is: YOU are the expert on your own work. Our coaching exploration can open the door to finding clarity, hearing your inner intuitive voice, seeing through the fog, or getting unstuck so that you can make your own edits from an empowered, authentic place.

  • No! While I hope to offer in-person coaching in the future, I currently do all my sessions over the phone. For many reasons, I find coaching by phone, rather than video platform, to be the most effective. I understand that not meeting virtually face-to-face may be uncomfortable for some; if that includes you, once we’ve decided to work together, I’m happy to accomodate with a brief video “hello” before we begin phone sessions.
